Mike 'The Bike' was already a multiple world champion and had not raced for 11 years. He returned, competing almost for free, on the beautiful Ducati NCR 900 and won, spectacularly. Ducati's victory on English soil gave the brand enormous visibility and consecrated Mike 'The Bike' as a legend of motorcycling."
