Doplňující popis: | INT.CODE: RUM00005 It is the first motorcycle developed by Rumi, at the time a well-known Bergamo foundry which entered the motorcycle market in 1950 with this extraordinary 125; futuristic in its forms and technical solutions, the Gobbetto will find recognition among young people for its unusual and sporty forms which will soon see it participate in circuit competitions and in the first and tough regularity competitions. The Gobbetto was immediately developed also in a competition version, called SS52; the 2-stroke engine derived from the production bike uses a reinforced wheel-guided frame, on which the particular aluminum tank is housed which, embracing the fork with oscillating shackles, extends forward outlining the number plate. The Dell'Orto SSI22C or SSI23C carburettors with separate tank, applied via an adjustable support that allowed to quickly optimize the carburetion, take care of powering the 2-stroke twin-cylinder. The first evolution, practically immediate, concerns the flywheel magnet which gives way to an external magneto from Marelli, considered more reliable as it takes motion directly from the crankshaft, via chain and crown-pinion. And it is the unusual "hump" shape of the aluminum carter that protects the magnet mechanism, clearly visible on the left side, that gives the Rumi 125 the name Gobbetto. The first series of the Gobbetto, recognizable by its black paintwork with red tank, met with good success on the Italian tracks, also winning over some enthusiasts across the border, especially in France, Sweden and Switzerland. It is assumed that around thirty specimens were assembled by Rumi between 1952 and 1954. The second series of this historic 125 sees the introduction of a new frame, similar to the previous one but equipped with an oscillating swingarm instead of a driven wheel. The imposing tank is finished with more rounded lines, preserving the particular structure extending beyond the fork, enriched by a new grey/yellow color scheme, combined with the Rumi gray of the frame. The 2-stroke horizontal twin cylinder delivers 8,200 rpm and a maximum power of 9 HP, which push the Gobbetto to a top speed of 136 km/h. The spoked rims are in aluminium, as are the heads and cylinders on the latest versions. An example that always manages to attract the attention of old enthusiasts, but also the curiosity of the younger ones.
